Blessing in not having to build an Ark...

It has been raining for almost 3 days non stop here and the thought did cross my mind that it may be prudent to start building an ark like Noah!

On the way to my old house, it was pouring down and mum said that she prayed for the rain to stop by the time we got to our destination. In my moment of lack of faith, I was thinking, it's been raining for so many days already, it's not going to stop. Foolish me, sure enough by the time we reached our destination, the sun shone brightly and as if the tap was turned off.

Keeping in mind God's promise that the flood on that scale would not happen again, I felt re-assured that when ever things look bleak, there's always that promise to keep me going. The sun will eventually shine and everything will work out.

Now thats a thought to share....

When you just do not know how to say it....

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express."
Romans 8:26 (NIV)

God Googles too !!

The light in my mum's bathroom fused and tripped out the main switch board... again. Due to the strain on my shoulder which was still quite painful, I could not stretch out to unscrew the fuse in the light. Looking for an electrician but could not find a number in my stack of cards. Next option... Google. Surprising hitting a link to the Electricians association in my hometown. Scanning the members in the list, I picked a number to call. When contacting them, they were not sure if an electrician was available. Finally someone called me back and was able to come over after work.

In short, all was fixed and without having to rush out at lunch or taking time out from work.
I truely believe God's hand was in the Google as was his plan... Thank you God for your guidance.

Listen and hear...sufferings is nothing compared to what's in store for you

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
Romans 8:18 (NIV)

Thank God for keeping my mum safe

Thank God for keeping my safe today when she slipped and fell while doing her gardening. She knocked her head on the concrete slap which is on the side of our driveway. As usual all the reminders not to do certain things were ignored. When we cannot protect the ones we love, we need to trust in God's plans that he will take care of them for us. Somethings are just out of our hands...Trust is something we need to learn.

Thank God for the people in your life

Everyday we meet people
Sometimes new faces
Sometime old ones
We meet them on the phone
We meet them through e-mails
On facebook
And even on eBay
Never seeing their face
And sometimes only hearing their voices
Each brings a precious experience for us
Sharing a moment from their lives
God place them there for a reason
To enrich our lives
So Thank God for those little moments
Treasure them
Learn from them
Cherish them

Thank God for Today

It's amazing how God plans your day for you even if you do not know it.
Since it was raining today, we decided to go catch a movie.
Got out of the house quite late and was stuck in the jam, but got to the mall and found a spot just after going in.
It was near the lift and went straight down to A&W where we planned to grab a quick bite.
Reached into the movie just in time for the start of the show.

Today's reading on my calendar was about patience. Guess God was trying to drive home the word as I learn about patience with the traffic, my mum and other people especially in the queue when I was trying to collect the ticket and they took a long time to buy theirs.
