Merry Christmas !

With all the preparations
All the Christmas music
Trimmings and carols
Rush to find presents
And sending greetings
Spare a thought
For the true meaning of Christmas
The birth of Jesus Christ
The first chapter for the salvation of our souls
The gift of grace and salvation
Joy to the world indeed
Amen

Thank God for getting everything done in the limited time we have

Each day we start with 24 hours
Each one of us is the same
Not a minute more
Not a minute less

Its by Gods grace that everything lines up
To help us along the way
Even when we are delayed
There is a reason

Trust in him
That he will provide
The cool breeze
To cool you
The fast service
To speed you
The clear roads
To move you

All the little things
He provides
Lets gives thanks

Prophecy -Matthew 1:22-23

"All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" --which means, "God with us.""— Matthew 1:22-23 (NIV)

Thanks for the small things

I would like to give thanks for today
For God's grace to helping me find a good parking spot
To be able to get me into the post office on time
And in a time slot when there were not many people
For getting me a seat at my favorite coffee joint
To getting me into the shade during the storm
And finding more supplies for me

All the little things we take for granted
Amen

Prayer for my friend

Just got news from my friend who has migrated down to Australia and he says he has found God and is now a practicing Christian. While this is great news, I pray that this is not one of his swings of interest and that he will truly embrace God's love and grace. May he find the peace that God brings and embrace the future that God has planned for him.
Amen.

Conducting yourself

"Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved--and that by God."
Philippians 1:27-28 (NIV

Happy Thanksgiving !

Wishing all my friends a Happy Thanksgiving.

We should have Thanksgiving every day
For all the blessings we receive.
From the small blessings of safety, a home and plenty to eat
To the larger ones

Thank you God for giving provisions to us every day.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is life not more important than food and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life.
Matthew 6:25-27 New International Version

A driver called GOD

There is a curve called failure
A loop called confusion
Speed bumps called friends
Caution lights called family
And you will have flats called jobs

But if you have a spare called determination
An engine called perseverance
Insurance called faith
And a driver called GOD
You will make it to a place called success...

Psalm 9:10 - Seek the knowledge

Psalm 9:10
"Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You."

Sometimes we need to remember that not everything in our life is in our control and we need to place our trust in God who will never forsake us if we seek him and keep our trust in him.
Amen.

Prayer

Here is what I received in my Daily Wisdom e-mail :

"Prayer is a vitally important part of our Christian walk, but it's often greatly misunderstood.  Prayer is how we talk with our Heavenly Father.  It can never be used to manipulate God nor cause Him to do anything outside His perfect will.  God is not our magic genie who has to grant our wishes! "

How amazing this passage is. Our walk with God is unlike any other religion. We do so based on free will, but also based on God's grace and guidance. He does not force us to follow his path, and in return we cannot manipulate God to do what we want him to do because we do not have the foresight of his greater plan. Sometimes things will happen, that we do not wish to happen, as it is part of God's plan for us. No matter how hard we pray to the contrary.

The idea of prayer in Christianity is not to request things, but rather to have a discussion with God and also to give thanks for his many blessings. As any Father, all requests are heard but not all can be fulfilled, to the way the requester wants. To be able to understand this concept, is to be able to have a better communication with God.

Remember "Daddy daddy I want..." doesn't always work !

Romans 14:8 Live or Die

"If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord."

— Romans 14:8 (NIV)

Daily Verse

Thank God for taking care of love ones on their journey

Be thankful to God's blessing
Of his ever watchful eye
Of his caring love
Spread over all of us
Even if we don't realise it
Each and every step we take
Each and every place we go
Be it near or far
He is there to watch over us
What ever happens will be for a reason
For every step we take
Is to be closer to him
We just need to open our eyes
To see the wonders that he has in store for us.

Numers 20:12 - God's perfect plan

"Because you did not trust in Me enough to honor Me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them" (Numbers 20:12).  God's perfect plan for Moses clearly included a trip into the Promised land; but, even after 40 years of faithful leadership, Moses' lack of trust caused him to miss out on God's very best.

Sometimes we feel that we are heading through a rough patch and that we cannot see the plan laid out for us. Even Moses with all his experience sometimes doubted God's direction, what more we "youngsters" ! We need to have faith that God has a plan for us and he will not lead down the wrong path.

Prayer for my mum

Tonight I have a prayer for my mum
Who seems to have trouble sleeping
Every night she sleeps for only one or two hours and wakes up
I pray that she will be able to sleep soundly and wake up fully rested in the morning
Without interruption or disturbances in the night
Also pray for the blotches on the left side of her body which just appeared
May they go away
And may the cause of these bodily aches be displed
Amen

The poor man called...

"This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles."— Psalm 34:6 (NIV)

Thank God for helping me through yesterday
Running late and with a flat tyre
Reaching the post office just as the last post was going out
Waiting in a long queue
When he sent his angel to let me get the package out on time

Lord grant me patience to carry out the things that I need to do
And faith to know that God will take care of me

A new day dawns - a day to be thankful

As one of my friends pointed out, we here in Malaysia are most fortunate as twice we have been protected from the full force of the earthquake that brought so much destruction in Indonesia, through the upheaval and the following Tsunami. The Indonesian mainland protected us from the full force of the earthquake and the Tsunami that followed thus sparing us from the full impact of the devastation.

While India, Philippines and Taiwan bear the brunt of the Typhoon and storms that afflict us, all we have to moan about is getting stuck in traffic jams due to rain.

We need to give thanks to God for the blessing of protecting us in these times of climatic upheavals.

Also after watching the movie Darfur Now, we should also be more appreciative of the life that we have, of abundance and comfort, free from persecution and having food on our tables. Essential watching for anyone.

Please be thankful and take a moment to thank God for your life and what you have.

I sought the LORD

"I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears."— Psalm 34:4 (NIV)

In this unsettling times...typhoons, earthquakes, threats of war,
Remember the shelter that he has promised,
Seek him for comfort
And you shall find peace

Remembering those in Indonesia, Phillipines Taiwan, Sri Lanka, India and any one who is in harms way.

Prayer for those who have lost loved ones

A simple prayer for those who have been swept away by the stormy sea
For those buried under the debris of brittle man made structures and fragile hopes
In the midst of chaos and suffering
May they remember and discover God's love
A shining light in a dark place.
Amen

"Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together."— Psalm 34:3 (NIV)

Remember Asia in these trying times

Reprinting todays sharing that I received which I think was very timely.
We Will Not Fear

In these times of great uncertainty - with concern about things like war, terrorism, and the economy - let's always remember, our Heavenly Father is the Creator of the Universe. He formed the Heavens and the Earth out of nothing, and, as we place our trust in Him, He has given a basic promise: "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). His desire is for us to draw nearer in our love and worship, and allow His Spirit to remove all fear.

Psalm 46:1-3
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."

Although we are uncertain what tomorrow may bring, we ought to have confidence in the One who really controls tomorrow. If we believe Jesus died for our sin, rose again in victory over death, and is seated at the right hand of the Father - if we surrender our life to who He is and what He has done - our eternal home has been firmly established; "Our citizenship is in Heaven" (Philippians 3:20). As a child of the Sovereign King, as one who believes in our eternal future, we no longer have reason to fear; "For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship" (Romans 8:15).

We no longer have a reason, but still we fear. The unknown is scary and makes us feel out of control. But as we pray for an end to violence, and as we strive to make this world safer, better educated, and more prosperous, we must understand there is only one true solution to our fear.

Our fear will only be removed as we love the Lord with ALL our heart, soul, mind and strength. When we understand that our life is not our own, we will love with a complete abandonment to His desire. We will pray and live each day with the surrender demonstrated by Christ; "Father...not My will, but Yours be done" (Luke 22:42). As we live each day to bring Him glory and honor, fear WILL begin to fade: "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear" (1 John 4:18).

Yes, these days contain some uncertainty. If we continue to focus on what we can see, there will always be uncertainties. But our faith, hope, and joy are in His eternal glory, not in this world which will one day pass away. Let's refuse to allow our fear of the unknown cripple our service for God. There is still much work He has for us to do. Let's pray that our love will increase, that our worship will intensify, and that we will boldly stand up and proclaim, "We will not fear!"

Have a Christ Centered Day!

Thank GOD for re-triggering our memories

Sometimes when we through our own methods find something
We need to turn to God
For inspiration and guidance
To find what we lost

This morning my mum could not find the house keys after swapping hand bags. Even after a search all around we could not find it. With a little prayer at lunch, we sought God's help to find the missing keys. After lunch something made mum look at another bag which she used last week and behold there were the keys.

Seek God and he will provide guidance. Amen.

Blessing in not having to build an Ark...

It has been raining for almost 3 days non stop here and the thought did cross my mind that it may be prudent to start building an ark like Noah!

On the way to my old house, it was pouring down and mum said that she prayed for the rain to stop by the time we got to our destination. In my moment of lack of faith, I was thinking, it's been raining for so many days already, it's not going to stop. Foolish me, sure enough by the time we reached our destination, the sun shone brightly and as if the tap was turned off.

Keeping in mind God's promise that the flood on that scale would not happen again, I felt re-assured that when ever things look bleak, there's always that promise to keep me going. The sun will eventually shine and everything will work out.

Now thats a thought to share....

When you just do not know how to say it....

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express."

God Googles too !!

The light in my mum's bathroom fused and tripped out the main switch board... again. Due to the strain on my shoulder which was still quite painful, I could not stretch out to unscrew the fuse in the light. Looking for an electrician but could not find a number in my stack of cards. Next option... Google. Surprising hitting a link to the Electricians association in my hometown. Scanning the members in the list, I picked a number to call. When contacting them, they were not sure if an electrician was available. Finally someone called me back and was able to come over after work.

In short, all was fixed and without having to rush out at lunch or taking time out from work.
I truely believe God's hand was in the Google as was his plan... Thank you God for your guidance.

Thank God for keeping my mum safe

Thank God for keeping my safe today when she slipped and fell while doing her gardening. She knocked her head on the concrete slap which is on the side of our driveway. As usual all the reminders not to do certain things were ignored. When we cannot protect the ones we love, we need to trust in God's plans that he will take care of them for us. Somethings are just out of our hands...Trust is something we need to learn.

Thank God for the people in your life

Everyday we meet people
Sometimes new faces
Sometime old ones
We meet them on the phone
We meet them through e-mails
On facebook
And even on eBay
Never seeing their face
And sometimes only hearing their voices
Each brings a precious experience for us
Sharing a moment from their lives
God place them there for a reason
To enrich our lives
So Thank God for those little moments
Treasure them
Learn from them
Cherish them

Thank God for Today

It's amazing how God plans your day for you even if you do not know it.
Since it was raining today, we decided to go catch a movie.
Got out of the house quite late and was stuck in the jam, but got to the mall and found a spot just after going in.
It was near the lift and went straight down to A&W where we planned to grab a quick bite.
Reached into the movie just in time for the start of the show.

Today's reading on my calendar was about patience. Guess God was trying to drive home the word as I learn about patience with the traffic, my mum and other people especially in the queue when I was trying to collect the ticket and they took a long time to buy theirs.

In God's hands...

Thank God for taking care of my baby
So far away yet always in my mind
Back from a trip
In the hot zone
Where disease is rife
Oh how little we know
God lends us an unknown time here on earth
From the time of our birth
The path is laid before us
Till the day we die
We make decisions all our lives
Taking us on the twist and turns of our life
Good or bad they shape us
Driving us to our final place
Make the most of all your time
Love without boundaries
Live without regrets
For one day
Our Father will call us back
And all the opportunities will be gone
To say "I Love You"

Thank God for arranging the plumbler !

Sometimes in life things really go south like the air conditioner just when you are about to go the bed and you a really in need to hit the sack !

Thank God for allowing the plumber to come today to fix it so that at least tonight we can get some peace and quiet sleep.

Sometimes we need God to come in to fix us up when things really hit the fan to bring back that peaceful sleep...

His Angels will take care of you

Thank God for sending his Angels to take care of my dear.
My girlfriend is traveling to the States for the first time and was quite anxious as this was unknown territory. Normally she would do the online check in and get a seat further up front of the aircraft but some how this time, she forgot and got the pre-assigned set near the galley and engine. Being quite noisy, she requested to change seat and was told that this could be done once the crew changed in Japan. She was moved forward to a vacant seat which happen to be next to another person from her company who was also traveling to the same event.

This person guided her through the airport changes and helped her get to the correct terminal for the connecting domestic flight.

Everything happens for a reason which we will never see ahead of time...have faith and God will see you through.

God's direction

Things always happen for a reason. The toilet on the floor that we normally goto in the mall was under maintenance so we decided to go to the floor below. While waiting for mum, I dropped into the Tower records store on the corner. Surprisingly it was closing down and there were tons of great bargains on CDs. What grand timing and great blessing from God.
Thank you for your blessings.

No short cuts

Guess sometimes we do not listen when God speaks to us...the other day when I got my daily reading e-mail, the topic was about taking short cuts which cause us to stray from the path. Little did I know that this would be so real as I took a short cut to a car parking space and nearly met with an accident. Sometimes we look but do not see, listen but do not hear...
Thanks God for his wisdom and grace to see us through.

Thank God for all the Fathers in the world

Father's day brings missing my dad more since he passed on about years already.
Yet everyday I have to thank God for his blessing to me of my dad and the time we had together. Cherish your dad everyday not just on Father's dad as he is a precious gift which cannot be replaced. One day, he will have to leave you, as is the circle of life. Thank you God for my Dad.

God's little journey....

God works in mysterious ways...

I just got an interview for a company in a town about 45 mins away from my place. I have never been out to this place before and somehow about 2 weeks back I had to go there for a business trip. Luckily I had a guide with me, who showed me the way. This really helped when I went out there to check the place out as I could recognize the landmarks on the way.

He definitely lays the path for you if you only learn to look.
Thanks God for small miracles.

Timing

Normally on Sunday I would like to stay in and catch up on some of my personal stuff and just chill out. This Sunday I had a nagging feeling to visit my old house again even though we had just gone to check it the day before.

When I reached home, I tried to unlock the padlock on the gate but to my astonishment the whole barrel fell out. Sunday coming up to 5pm, where could I find a locksmith ? Thank God I thought...imagine if this would have happened the previous day, when my mum was around. She would have gone on and on about it and it would have been terrible.

Anyway, I tried the nearby shopping arcade and surprisingly there was a locksmith. I managed to get them to come out to the house and within seconds he had the padlock open. He mentioned that actually he was about to close up for the day and he was not always opened every Sunday.

Gods blessing comes everyday and there are no big miracles, just small blessings everyday.

Happy Chinese New Year !

Thank God for the little blessing of getting through all the preparations for another Chinese New Year. A time of festivities and stress trying to ensure all the traditional things get done and all the essential visits are complete. Festival times are a time of hyper activity when we get lost in the rush of things. Another year another festival.

Happy Chinese New Year !

Thanks for the brain....

Small wonders and thanks to God for providing us a brain and the knowledge to use it !
People can blame their circumstances on bad luck, bad choices, bad decisions but how many can make use of this great gift to change where they are at and make the most of the situation ?

Are you doing something to improve your life or waiting for that great miracle to drop from the sky ?! Little do you realize that the miracle you are waiting for is YOU !

God bless...

Thank GOD for old friends

Thank GOD for the little blessings of old friends and first loves.
Just met up with my first girlfriend and nice to know that she still cares and is doing well.
Strange though that although married, both husband and wife lead quite separate lives ... almost single life styles. Many couples seem to be in this mode...is there any point in marriage in this case or am I being old fashioned ?

Anyway I thank GOD for the opportunity to have been together and to see her again.
Who knows the path laid out for them...?
