Last Friday news broke across the world of the latest in the wave of violence happening in the world and put Newton, Connecticut on the lips of many people who would have never heard of this small town. The killings of so many small children shocked many people and this tragedy during this Christmas season will have many people shaken in their faith. Maybe that's what was intended by what ever evil forces they were at play with the timing of this tragic event.
Not so well published was the death of 10 Afghan girls killed by a landmine in Afghanistan over the same weekend.

Young lives just as valued by their parents and just as tragic that they were killed by another human being while doing their normal daily activities. Both just as tragic and deserving equal attention for your prayers and thoughts.
I can not for the life of me give any meaning or reason to these deaths as they are far beyond my understanding. Suffice to say that we made this world that we live in and we will need to face the consequences of the decisions that we made. For now, all I can offer is a prayer for comfort for the families of those who have been lost and a prayer that we will actually have the courage to make the hard choices so that this does not happen again. We can only pray for this.
King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 19:14

Importance of Prayer
Prayer is a vitally important part of our Christian walk, but it's often greatly misunderstood. Prayer is how we talk with our Heavenly Father. It can never be used to manipulate God nor cause Him to do anything outside His perfect will. God is not our magic genie who has to grant our wishes!
Prayer should not be I want I want...
Give thanks for blessings, your family, your life
And for the joy and safety of others too.

Jeremiah 32:27 "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?"
Jeremiah 32:27
"I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?"
The times in which we are most tested and pressed down ought to be the times of greatest growth and closeness with our Heavenly Father. When it seems we have no where else to turn, we ought to rejoice and trust Him even more! Let's put our life firmly in His Hands and submit to His guidance - even when we may not see where we are going or how we will get there. Let's trust His ways and always remember...for God, there is NOTHING too hard!
This was the message in my inbox today. Very timely in my circumstance, for I really feel there is no where to turn, no one to ask for help, no options available. I keep on praying and am constantly receiving assurance from God that everything is possible in his hands.

The ground shock again in Banda Aceh yesterday. I was sitting on the sofa when I felt a familiar side to side motion which was like not a normal feeling. This was the same strange feeling I had before during the last great earthquake in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. I had a feeling that this was happenning again. I did a quick check on the net and sure enough a 7.6 earthquake hit Aceh again around 12:46 pm. Thank God there was no Tsunami this time, but it brings back the thought that everything is in God's hands. The path we have choosen is in Gods hands. An event like this is totally out of our control.

A moment of prayer
For even God's creatures
Also know the importance of prayer.
To give thanks for the day
To give thanks for all the blessings
To ask for forgiveness for our trasppases
To pray for the health of our loved ones
To bring forth our greatest burdens
And to spend time with our Father.
Set a moment for prayer
Each and every day
Each moment that is precious
To communicate with our Father
Who art in heaven

Prayer
Here is what I received in my Daily Wisdom e-mail :
"Prayer is a vitally important part of our Christian walk, but it's often greatly misunderstood. Prayer is how we talk with our Heavenly Father. It can never be used to manipulate God nor cause Him to do anything outside His perfect will. God is not our magic genie who has to grant our wishes! "
How amazing this passage is. Our walk with God is unlike any other religion. We do so based on free will, but also based on God's grace and guidance. He does not force us to follow his path, and in return we cannot manipulate God to do what we want him to do because we do not have the foresight of his greater plan. Sometimes things will happen, that we do not wish to happen, as it is part of God's plan for us. No matter how hard we pray to the contrary.
The idea of prayer in Christianity is not to request things, but rather to have a discussion with God and also to give thanks for his many blessings. As any Father, all requests are heard but not all can be fulfilled, to the way the requester wants. To be able to understand this concept, is to be able to have a better communication with God.
Remember "Daddy daddy I want..." doesn't always work !

Prayer for my mum
Tonight I have a prayer for my mum
Who seems to have trouble sleeping
Every night she sleeps for only one or two hours and wakes up
I pray that she will be able to sleep soundly and wake up fully rested in the morning
Without interruption or disturbances in the night
Also pray for the blotches on the left side of her body which just appeared
May they go away
And may the cause of these bodily aches be displed
Amen
