Joshua 3:15-16
"As soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water's edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away."
God always teaches us about faith and trust by directing us down a path we think is too hard to travel - into circumstances we don't understand. After all, if we could clearly see and understand, there wouldn't be a need for faith. But we often miss the opportunity to experience the true glory of God because we fail to obey and take the first step.
Sometimes we get plunged into a situation far beyond our control, just like the people of Japan these few days with the earthquake and tsunami devastating the country. We may not need such an extreme event. It may be a new job, a new investment ...but faith means trusting in God to lead us to some where safe, some where good. Are we willing to get out of our comfort zone and to take the first step...the leap of faith.

Jeremiah 32:27 "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?"
Jeremiah 32:27
"I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?"
The times in which we are most tested and pressed down ought to be the times of greatest growth and closeness with our Heavenly Father. When it seems we have no where else to turn, we ought to rejoice and trust Him even more! Let's put our life firmly in His Hands and submit to His guidance - even when we may not see where we are going or how we will get there. Let's trust His ways and always remember...for God, there is NOTHING too hard!
This was the message in my inbox today. Very timely in my circumstance, for I really feel there is no where to turn, no one to ask for help, no options available. I keep on praying and am constantly receiving assurance from God that everything is possible in his hands.

The ground shock again in Banda Aceh yesterday. I was sitting on the sofa when I felt a familiar side to side motion which was like not a normal feeling. This was the same strange feeling I had before during the last great earthquake in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. I had a feeling that this was happenning again. I did a quick check on the net and sure enough a 7.6 earthquake hit Aceh again around 12:46 pm. Thank God there was no Tsunami this time, but it brings back the thought that everything is in God's hands. The path we have choosen is in Gods hands. An event like this is totally out of our control.

A new day dawns - a day to be thankful
As one of my friends pointed out, we here in Malaysia are most fortunate as twice we have been protected from the full force of the earthquake that brought so much destruction in Indonesia, through the upheaval and the following Tsunami. The Indonesian mainland protected us from the full force of the earthquake and the Tsunami that followed thus sparing us from the full impact of the devastation.
While India, Philippines and Taiwan bear the brunt of the Typhoon and storms that afflict us, all we have to moan about is getting stuck in traffic jams due to rain.
We need to give thanks to God for the blessing of protecting us in these times of climatic upheavals.
Also after watching the movie Darfur Now, we should also be more appreciative of the life that we have, of abundance and comfort, free from persecution and having food on our tables. Essential watching for anyone.
Please be thankful and take a moment to thank God for your life and what you have.
