Today was an extremely wet day with strong winds and rain rain rain. We have to thank God that we did not have the full fletch hurricane like Alex. I went back to our old house and found the beam that held up the garage roof had fallen down. I thank God that my car, which usually is parked under where the beam fell, was not parked there. I also thank God that no other parts of the house were damaged.
A grey day which held a silver lining.

A new day dawns - a day to be thankful
As one of my friends pointed out, we here in Malaysia are most fortunate as twice we have been protected from the full force of the earthquake that brought so much destruction in Indonesia, through the upheaval and the following Tsunami. The Indonesian mainland protected us from the full force of the earthquake and the Tsunami that followed thus sparing us from the full impact of the devastation.
While India, Philippines and Taiwan bear the brunt of the Typhoon and storms that afflict us, all we have to moan about is getting stuck in traffic jams due to rain.
We need to give thanks to God for the blessing of protecting us in these times of climatic upheavals.
Also after watching the movie Darfur Now, we should also be more appreciative of the life that we have, of abundance and comfort, free from persecution and having food on our tables. Essential watching for anyone.
Please be thankful and take a moment to thank God for your life and what you have.

Blessing in not having to build an Ark...
It has been raining for almost 3 days non stop here and the thought did cross my mind that it may be prudent to start building an ark like Noah!
On the way to my old house, it was pouring down and mum said that she prayed for the rain to stop by the time we got to our destination. In my moment of lack of faith, I was thinking, it's been raining for so many days already, it's not going to stop. Foolish me, sure enough by the time we reached our destination, the sun shone brightly and as if the tap was turned off.
Keeping in mind God's promise that the flood on that scale would not happen again, I felt re-assured that when ever things look bleak, there's always that promise to keep me going. The sun will eventually shine and everything will work out.
Now thats a thought to share....
